Survey Reflection Blog Post
This whole survey assessment worked out pretty much exactly as i thought it would. The process of getting the information needed wasn’t the easiest to gather as the online survey didn’t receive that much reception and it would have only resulted in minimal results. But i chose to take an extra avenue and used old fashion hand-printed copies to get a quicker and more reliable results. The beginning of the idea came about from the recent Student Strike that occurred near the school premises, it was a big topic around the world and had many different opinions bouncing back and forth between every individual. the thought occurred to me that it may have also had an impact on the students most of all, especially surrounding the school children leaving the premises with teachers permission to go out and strike. That aspect alone was my reason for picking this topic and how it can affect student experience. Overall when it came to gathering the data, i thought ahead and saw that only going online would not be the best option to take, so i made saw to have a back up and printed out a few copies to have done in the class on the same day, as to get them back a lot quicker and without having to worry whether they’ll get done or not. Maybe taking a further step and trying more avenues of getting results like group meetings would have also been a quicker way of getting more data, but i didn’t feel like my questions or topic would work as well in an open area as they are a lot more subjective than other similar topics. The process as a whole for me was actually a fairly positive experience. Nothing drastically wrong happened during the period and even though i didn’t get that many results, the amount i got was enough to have an impact in my studies and one i could actually create a response around. The early process about putting together a timeline of events and working out when and how to do each step could have been something i planned out better as i didn’t start to get the ins and outs of the work done until later than probably necessary but not long enough that i was rushing. Overall the experience was a decent start for a new avenue of working in collecting data and the results should be enough to compile a reasonable outcome.
